Stationery tricks: 3 creative and practical ideas for everyday life

Anyone who creates personalised stationery at home - whether as a gift, decoration or for sale - knows that sometimes stationery tricks make all the difference. Between cutting out, gluing, printing and finishing, some tricks I've learnt (and tested a lot!) help me save time and make everything look more beautiful. In this article, I've put together three of my favourites: simple, effective and they really make a difference to the end result.
1. How to prevent ink smudging when printing.
(stationery tricks)
First of all, if you've ever had the problem of beautiful art coming out of the printer with smudges or popped colours, know that this is common but avoidable. For example, one trick I always use: before printing on adhesive or coated paper, select the correct paper type in the printer settings ("photo paper" or "glossy paper") and set the quality to "high". This makes the printer release the ink more cautiously. And after printing, wait 5 to 10 minutes before handling the material. Sounds simple, but it saves impressions!
2. The secret of the perfect fold line (stationery tricks)
Secondly, anyone who works with moulds, boxes and tags knows that a good crease line is what separates a professional finish from an amateur one. I use a thick needle or a hole puncher on a metal ruler, going firmly over the parts where I need to fold. This doesn't tear the paper and makes it easier to fold. If the paper is thinner, an inkless pen cap works just as well. The difference with these creative stationery tricks is remarkable.

3. How to turn scraps into personalised stickers
Finally, this stationery trick is one of my favourites. You know those little pieces of paper left over from other projects? I separate the ones with pretty prints and use wide transparent adhesive tape to turn them into stickers. Simply place the piece of paper between two layers of adhesive tape, smooth it out and cut it out. What's more, if you want, you can stick a base of baking paper underneath to keep as a card. In short, it's sustainable, easy and very useful!
So I hope these creative stationery tricks will help you transform your handmade stationery projects even more, as well as your day-to-day life. Here on the blog, I always bring you tips that I've tested and use in my day-to-day life. Share with me: which trick do you use and recommend the most?
